Optimization and effects of machining parameters on delamination in drilling of pure and Al2O3/SiO2-added GFRP composites

The present study concentrates on optimization and the effect of machining parameters delamination that occurs during drilling operation pure glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) composites added GFRP which were developed for resistance to erosion wear. Contribution was investigated by using Taguchi method analysis variance (ANOVA). Relationship between modelled response surface methodology. Correlations established quadratic regression methodology (RSM). Delamination factors in hole entrance exit obtained fiber epoxy, SiO2- Al2O3-added materials experimental plan. at exits found bigger than entrances. smallest values GFRP/epoxy composite compared Al2O3/SiO2-added exit. In investigation machinability composites, considering material as a variable, it has been determined greater cutting parameters. A new index defined having best three entrance. Good It feed rate is speed low effect. Optimization multi-objective function created maximizing removal rate, minimizing delamination, performed, optimum obtained.
